Led by HIEC and funded by the Government of Canada, FutureForce Halton represented an opportunity for local businesses and organizations to address workforce shortages that threatened the Halton economy.

Career Coaches Unlimited
Career Coaches Unlimited builds on the foundation of our highly successful Men as Career Coaches & Women as Career Coaches programs, drawing together already-engaged adult community members and high school students for further one-to-one sharing and inspiration.

Careers Unlimited was a career fair held by HIEC from 2004-2007. With over 150 exhibitors and over 800 students, Careers Unlimited was an excellent resource for youth looking for information on various occupations. The event was presented by HIEC and both the HDSB and HCDSB.
Seniors and Social Media
The objective of the program is for Halton seniors to share their stories with local elementary school students. The students capture these moments on film and create a digital keepsake, which is presented to the seniors and community members at a special event.
20th Anniversary Gala
On November 17th, 2009 the Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC) celebrated 20 years of partnership, innovation and mentorship at the Burlington Convention Centre with keynote speaker Richard Florida.
25th Anniversary Gala
On November 21st, 2014 political dignitaries, education professionals, and community members gathered to celebrate the Halton Industry Education Council’s 25th anniversary on Monday, featuring a HIEC living museum and keynote.

Talk With Our Kids About Money was a virtual money fair with the objective of inspiring students from various grades to explore the world of finance.

Avenues to Apprenticeship
Developed by HIEC, Avenues to Apprenticeship was an 18-week, free skilled trades exploration and employment-readiness program for racialized youth, featuring an emphasis on career awareness learning.
Technological Literacy for Seniors
Technological Literacy for Seniors was an intergenerational mentorship program led by HIEC that focused on expanding safety and technological literacy for seniors.
HIEC Youth Advisory
The HIEC Youth Advisory was a committee of young people who provided their perspectives and opinions on how to help reach HIEC’s goal of bridging the gap between education and industry.
HACC
Led by HIEC, the Halton Apprenticeship Advisory Council was organized to create strategic partnerships between education, government, labour, and industry to address the shortage of skilled trades labour.
Breakfast with the Mayors
Hosted by HIEC and the Mayors of Halton Region, Breakfast with the Mayors provided a forum for community partners to receive updates on education issues and HIEC programs.
